E06
The garbage disposal runs, but water backs up into the sink; E06 or a drain icon is shown on some Tweeny models.
Drainage Restriction / Outlet Blockage
E07
The garbage disposal runs but leaks from the bottom housing; E07 or a leak warning is displayed on some sensor-equipped Tweeny models.
Internal Seal / Housing Leak
E08
The garbage disposal will not run, E08 is displayed, and the reset button immediately trips again.
Ground Fault / Short Circuit Protection
E09
The garbage disposal runs but is extremely noisy; E09 (vibration/noise warning) is displayed on some smart Tweeny models.
Imbalance / Loose Internal Components
E10
Garbage disposal runs, but water and food splash back into the sink. E10 splash/guard warning on some models.

Garbage disposal runs but trips the GFCI outlet. E17 ground fault indication on some models.
Ground Leakage / Insulation Fault
E18
Garbage disposal LED blinks, but the motor does not run. E18 overload lockout on some Tweeny models.
Electronic Overload Lockout
Symptom
Garbage disposal causes a mild electric shock when touching the sink or unit
Improper Grounding / Leakage to Chassis
Symptom
Garbage disposal causes the sink to back up into the other basin.
Shared Drain Line Obstruction
Symptom
Garbage disposal emits foul odors even after running with water.
Organic Buildup / Biofilm in Grinding Chamber
Symptom
Garbage disposal hums loudly but does not grind, then trips the reset button.
Mechanical Jam of Grinding Plate
Symptom
Garbage disposal leaks from the bottom only when running.
Internal Shaft Seal Failure
Symptom
Garbage disposal leaks from the side where the dishwasher hose connects.

Symptom
Garbage disposal motor runs, but the grinding plate does not spin (free-spinning noise).
Sheared Coupling / Disconnected Rotor
Symptom
Garbage disposal produces a clicking sound but does not spin
Start Relay or Capacitor Failure
Symptom
Garbage disposal runs but does not grind food effectively; food remains unprocessed.
Dull Grinding Components / Reduced Grinding Efficiency
Symptom
Garbage disposal trips the circuit breaker when turned on.
