Possible Causes
Loose or damaged communication cable, Corroded connector between display and main board, Failed display/control panel, Failed main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before removing the front panel or control box cover.
Steps to resolve E6:
- Inspect control panel: Remove the front bezel to access the display/control board. Check for moisture, corrosion, or signs of liquid spills.
- Check ribbon cable: Locate the ribbon or multi-wire harness connecting the display board to the main PCB. Reseat both ends by unplugging and firmly plugging them back in.
- Look for damage: Inspect the cable for kinks, cuts, or crushed sections where the plastic housing may have pinched it. Replace the display-to-main-board harness if damaged.
- Test operation: Reassemble enough to power the unit safely and test. If E6 clears, fully reassemble.
- Board substitution: If E6 persists, either the display board or main PCB is likely faulty. Start by replacing the display/control panel board (often more accessible and less expensive). If that does not resolve the issue, replace the main control board.
