Steps to stop indoor water leaks:

• Check installation tilt (window units): Ensure the unit is slightly tilted downward toward the outside so water flows out, not into the room.
• Clean drain channel: Remove the front cover and filter. Locate the condensate trough under the evaporator coil and clear any slime, dust, or debris with a brush and warm water.
• Inspect drain hole: From the rear, locate the small drain hole or notch in the base pan. Use a pipe cleaner or small wire to clear blockages.
• Portable units: Check the drain hose or plug at the rear/bottom. Ensure the hose is not kinked and the connection is tight. Clean any internal screens.
• Check drain pan: Inspect the plastic drain pan for cracks or warping. Replace the drain pan / base pan if damaged.
• Reassemble and test: After cleaning, run the unit and monitor for leaks. If leaking persists, a technician should inspect for internal pan misalignment or structural damage.
