Possible Causes
Clogged condensate drain line, Drain pan tilted or not level, Drain hose disconnected from the pan outlet, Frozen evaporator coil melting and overflowing the pan
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the AC and disconnect the power. Place towels or a tray under the unit to catch water.
Steps:
- Check unit level: Use a spirit level to ensure the indoor Blaupunkt unit is slightly tilted toward the drain side, as per the installation manual.
- Clear drain line: Access the drain outlet on the indoor unit and attach a wet/dry vacuum to the outside end of the drain hose to suck out sludge and algae.
- Inspect drain connection: Remove the front cover and verify that the drain hose is firmly attached to the drain pan spigot and is not cracked.
- Check for coil icing: If the evaporator is icing up, address airflow issues (dirty filters, low fan speed) or have a technician check the refrigerant charge.
