How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the outdoor disconnect before inspecting the unit.

Steps:

1. Inspect fan blade: Remove the top grille and check that the fan blade is tight on the motor shaft and not cracked. Tighten the set screw if loose.
2. Remove debris: Clear any sticks, stones, or other objects from the fan shroud and base pan.
3. Check motor bearings: Spin the fan blade by hand with power off. If it feels rough, wobbles, or makes grinding sounds, the motor bearings are failing and the motor should be replaced.
4. Inspect compressor mounts: Look at the rubber grommets under the compressor. If they are deteriorated or missing, vibration noise can increase. Replacement is a professional task.

Note: Do not bend fan blades; replace them if damaged.

Bryant outdoor unit is very loud during operation; rattling, buzzing, or grinding noises are heard.
