How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power at the outdoor disconnect before testing.

Steps:

Test dual run capacitor: Focus on the HERM (compressor) terminal. Replace the capacitor if out of spec.
Inspect wiring: Ensure all compressor leads are firmly attached and not burned.
Check contactor: Verify both poles are delivering voltage when energized.
Allow cool-down: If the compressor is very hot, let it cool for 1–2 hours and retry.
