• Inspect coil and pan: Remove the access panel and look for slime or mold on the coil and in the pan.
• Clean coil: Use an approved foaming coil cleaner suitable for Comfortmaker evaporator coils.
• Disinfect drain pan: Clean the pan with a mild bleach solution (if compatible) and flush the drain line.
• Improve filtration: Install a higher-quality filter and replace it regularly.
• Consider UV light: Have a technician install a UV germicidal lamp near the coil to reduce growth.
