Possible Causes
Internal tank full from high humidity, Drain plug installed and no external drain hose, Blocked internal drain path, Stuck float or level sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off and unplug the unit before draining water.
Steps to address P1:
- 1. Drain the unit: Move the portable AC to a location where water spillage is acceptable. Place a shallow pan under the lower drain port, remove the cap, and allow all water to drain. Tilt the unit slightly backward if needed to fully empty.
- 2. Consider continuous drain: If you use the unit in very humid conditions, attach a suitable drain hose to the drain port and route it to a floor drain or container to prevent frequent P1 shutdowns.
- 3. Check for clogs: With the rear panel removed, inspect the internal drain tray and tubing for slime or debris. Clean with warm soapy water and a small brush.
- 4. Verify float movement: Locate the float or water level sensor in the internal tank. Ensure it moves freely and is not stuck in the “full” position. Clean and re-seat if necessary.
- 5. Reset: After draining and cleaning, reinstall the drain cap securely, plug the unit back in, and restart. P1 should clear once the control detects a low water level.
