H1
On heat-capable Koldfront units, the display shows H1, and heating does not start immediately.
Defrost / Warm-Up Protection Mode (Information Code)
H3
On heat-capable models, the display shows H3, and the unit stops heating or cooling.
Compressor Overload / High Temperature Protection
P1
Portable Koldfront air conditioner stops and displays P1; the water tank or drain indicator may be lit.
Internal Condensate Tank Full / High Water Level
P2
Portable Koldfront air conditioner shows P2 and stops cooling; the fan may continue.
High Condensate Level in Heating or Dehumidify Mode (model-dependent)
Symptom
Burning or electrical smell from the unit during operation.
Overheating Electrical Component
Symptom
Clicking or buzzing noise from the control area when the compressor should start, but the compressor does not run.
Relay Chatter / Start Circuit Problem
Symptom
High-pitched squealing or grinding noise from the indoor section when the fan is running.
Blower Motor or Blower Wheel Bearing Failure
Symptom
Koldfront air conditioner runs but airflow from the front grille is very weak.
Restricted Airflow / Blower Problem
Symptom
Koldfront air conditioner will not turn on at all; no lights or display, completely dead.
No Power / Power Supply Failure
Symptom
Loud rattling or vibrating noise when the Koldfront air conditioner is running.
Excessive Vibration / Loose Components
Symptom
Musty or moldy odor from the Koldfront air conditioner when it starts.
Biological Growth in Evaporator and Drain Pan
Symptom
Outdoor fan not running while compressor is running; unit overheats or shuts down.
Condenser Fan Failure
Symptom
The Koldfront portable AC exhaust hose becomes very hot, and the room does not cool well.
Improper Exhaust / Recirculation
Symptom
The display works, but buttons on the control panel do not respond or respond intermittently.
User Interface / Keypad Failure
Symptom
The unit cools for a short time then shuts off, even though the room is still warm; it may restart after several minutes.
Short Cycling
Symptom
The unit displays temperature, but the actual room temperature is much warmer or cooler than indicated.
