Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off all related breakers before opening the outdoor unit.
Steps to check:
- 1. Verify outdoor power: Check the dedicated breaker or disconnect for the outdoor unit. Reset if tripped, but if it trips again, leave it OFF and call a technician.
- 2. Inspect outdoor terminal block: With power OFF, open the outdoor panel and ensure supply wires are tight and not burnt.
- 3. Check communication cable: Confirm the interconnecting cable between indoor and outdoor units is intact and correctly wired.
- 4. Listen for relay click: When the indoor unit calls for cooling, you should hear a faint click from the outdoor PCB relays (if safe to listen with cover on). No sound may indicate PCB failure.
When to call a technician: If power and wiring are correct but the outdoor unit remains inactive, the outdoor PCB or compressor contactor may be defective.
