Possible Causes
Full internal condensate tank, blocked condensate drain hose, stuck or faulty float switch, disconnected water level sensor wiring.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off and unplug the unit before draining water.
- Step 1 – Drain condensate: On Sencor portable air conditioners, locate the lower drain plug at the back. Place a shallow tray or pan under the plug and remove it to drain water completely.
- Step 2 – Check float switch: Remove the rear panel to access the condensate tank and float switch. Ensure the float moves freely up and down and is not stuck by dirt or scale.
- Step 3 – Clean tank and float: Wipe the tank and float with a damp cloth. Remove any slime or debris that could jam the float.
- Step 4 – Inspect wiring: Verify that the float switch or water level sensor connector is firmly attached to the main PCB and that wires are intact.
- Step 5 – Test switch (advanced): With the unit unplugged, disconnect the float switch and check continuity with a multimeter while moving the float. Replace the switch if it does not change state.
- Step 6 – External drain option: If available, connect a continuous drain hose to the designated outlet to avoid frequent tank full conditions.
