Possible Causes
Open or shorted condenser NTC sensor, sensor detached from condenser coil, damaged sensor harness, faulty outdoor PCB sensor circuit.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate power to the outdoor unit before opening any panels.
- Step 1 – Locate the condenser sensor: It is typically clipped to the condenser coil tubing or attached to the coil fins.
- Step 2 – Verify mounting: Ensure the sensor is in firm contact with the coil. Reattach it if loose.
- Step 3 – Inspect wiring: Look for corrosion or damage along the sensor wires and at the PCB connector.
- Step 4 – Replace the sensor: Install a new TCL condenser temperature sensor if the original is faulty.
- Step 5 – Replace the PCB if needed: If F4 remains, the outdoor PCB may need replacement.
Warning: Do not bend or damage the condenser tubes while working around the coil.
