Possible Causes
Failed room thermistor, Sensor out of position behind grille, Broken sensor wiring, Faulty indoor PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power to the indoor unit before removing the front cover.
- Locate room sensor: On York ductless units, the room thermistor is usually near the air intake grille. Ensure it is properly clipped in place and not touching cold coil surfaces.
- Inspect wiring: Check the small sensor wires for damage or loose connectors at the PCB.
- Test thermistor: Measure resistance at room temperature and compare to York's thermistor chart. Replace if readings are open, shorted, or far off spec.
- Replace PCB if needed: If a known‑good sensor still gives d1, the indoor control board may be faulty and require replacement.
