Possible Causes

Evaporator coil icing, Very low room temperature, Restricted airflow, Faulty evaporator temperature sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit before cleaning filters or coils.

  • Allow ice to melt: Turn the unit off and let it sit for several hours until all ice on the coil has melted.
  • Clean air filter: Remove and wash the filter. Ensure intake and exhaust are not blocked.
  • Check room temperature: If the room is already very cool, operate in fan mode only or raise the setpoint.
  • Sensor check: If P2 occurs frequently under normal conditions, the evaporator sensor may be faulty and should be replaced by a service technician.
