Possible Causes
Loose NTC sensor connector, Heat-damaged sensor wiring, Partially broken wire in harness, Control board connector oxidation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer and allow it to cool before opening.
Step 1 – Reproduce the fault
- Note when E9 appears: at startup, after several minutes, or only at high temperatures. This helps identify heat-related wiring issues.
Step 2 – Inspect sensor wiring
- Open the housing (unplugged) and locate the NTC temperature sensor harness from the heater area to the control board.
- Gently tug each wire; if one stretches or feels loose in the connector, the crimp may be failing.
- Look for brittle or darkened insulation near hot areas.
Step 3 – Clean and reseat connectors
- Disconnect the sensor plug from the control board.
- Use a small amount of contact cleaner on the pins (if available) and reconnect firmly.
- Ensure the harness is routed away from sharp metal edges and not pinched when reassembling.
Step 4 – Replace harness or sensor if needed
- If any wire is broken or insulation is cracked, replace the temperature sensor harness or entire sensor assembly.
- If E9 persists after wiring repair, the control board sensor input may be unstable and require board replacement.
