Possible Causes
NTC sensor shorted internally, Sensor wires shorted to each other, Moisture or oil contamination on sensor connector, Failed main PCB causing false short detection
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and let the air fryer cool completely before inspection.
- Inspect sensor and wiring: Access the temperature sensor at the top or rear of the cooking cavity. Check that the two sensor wires are not touching bare metal or each other where insulation is damaged. Look for oil or moisture bridging the connector pins.
- Clean the connector: If there is grease or moisture, gently clean the connector with a dry cloth or cotton swab. Do not use excessive liquid cleaners inside the unit.
- Measure sensor resistance: With a multimeter, measure resistance across the sensor leads at room temperature. A reading near 0 Ω indicates a shorted sensor. Replace the sensor if shorted.
- Check harness routing: Ensure the harness is not pinched by the cabinet or fan shroud, which can cut insulation and cause a short.
- Test operation: Reassemble, plug in, and run a preheat. If E2 remains, the main control PCB may be misreading the sensor and should be replaced or inspected by a technician.
