Possible Causes
Misaligned basket detection microswitch, Broken actuator tab on basket, Switch bracket bent away from contact point, Loose switch wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer before accessing internal switches.
Steps to fix basket detection issues:
- 1. Inspect basket tab: Look for the small plastic tab on the basket that presses the internal switch. If broken, replace the basket.
- 2. Listen for switch click: Slowly insert the basket and listen for a click. If none, the switch may be misaligned.
- 3. Access switch: Remove the side or bottom panel to locate the basket detection microswitch and its bracket.
- 4. Adjust bracket: Gently bend the switch bracket so that the basket tab fully depresses the switch when inserted.
- 5. Tighten mounting screws: Ensure the switch is firmly mounted and does not move when the basket is inserted.
Warning: Do not tape or permanently hold the switch closed; this defeats a safety feature.
