Possible Causes
Loose or damaged temperature sensor harness, Failed NTC temperature probe, Corroded connector at control board, Control PCB sensor input failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before any inspection. Internal components can remain hot; allow at least 20–30 minutes of cooling.
- Step 1 – Basic reset: Unplug the air fryer for 5 minutes to discharge the control board. Plug back in and attempt a short cook cycle. If E02 returns immediately, proceed to inspection.
- Step 2 – Visual inspection of sensor area: Look inside the cooking chamber near the heating element for the temperature sensor probe (small metal rod or button). Ensure it is not bent, coated in heavy grease, or physically damaged. Clean gently with a soft cloth and mild detergent; do not submerge the appliance.
- Step 3 – Check for moisture: If the unit was recently cleaned aggressively or exposed to steam, moisture may be on the sensor or connectors. Allow the unit to dry in a warm, dry room for several hours, then test again.
- Step 4 – Internal harness check (advanced): With the unit unplugged and cooled, remove the top or rear cover. Trace the two-wire harness from the temperature sensor to the control board. Ensure the connector is fully seated and there are no cuts or burn marks on the wires.
- Step 5 – Professional testing: Testing the NTC sensor requires a multimeter and temperature reference. If the wiring looks intact but E02 persists, the sensor or control board likely needs replacement and should be handled by a qualified technician.
