Oster air fryer powers on and display works, but it will not start cooking when the Start button is pressed.

Safety: Unplug the unit before opening the control housing.

• Confirm settings: Ensure a temperature and time are selected. Some models require pressing Start twice.
• Check basket position: Remove and firmly reinsert the basket until it is fully seated. Look for obstructions on the rails.
• Test other buttons: If only the Start button fails while others respond, the touch panel may be worn or damaged.
• Clean touch panel: Wipe the panel with a soft cloth. Grease or moisture can interfere with capacitive buttons.
• Inspect basket switch (advanced): Access the basket detection microswitch and test it with a multimeter. Replace if it does not change state when actuated.
• Replace touch panel or board: If the Start button area is unresponsive or the board does not react to any inputs, replace the touch control panel or main control board as needed.
