Possible Causes

Residue from manufacturing not fully burned off, low-quality or damaged nonstick coating, internal plastic components overheating, foreign material trapped near the heater.

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: If you suspect toxic fumes or see any plastic deformation, stop using the appliance.

Steps:

  • Extended burn-in: Run 2–3 empty cycles at high temperature with good ventilation, allowing the unit to cool between cycles.
  • Deep clean: Wash all removable parts thoroughly and wipe interior surfaces.
  • Inspect heater area: With power disconnected, inspect around the heater and fan for trapped packaging materials or melted plastic; remove them carefully.

Next steps: If the odor persists and you see signs of internal plastic discoloration or melting, discontinue use and contact PowerXL support; internal plastic parts may be overheating and require replacement.
