Possible Causes

Cabinet NTC probe connector loose on control board, Broken NTC sensor wiring harness, Failed NTC temperature sensor, Damaged main control PCB sensor input

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the air fryer and allow it to cool completely before opening any panels. Never work on a live appliance.

  • Check for obvious resets: Remove the basket and reinsert it firmly. Confirm the lid/door is fully closed and latched, then try powering on again.
  • Power cycle: Unplug the unit for 5 minutes to discharge the control board, then plug back in and test. Sometimes transient faults clear this way.
  • Inspect the temperature sensor connector: If you are comfortable opening the unit, remove the rear or bottom cover (depending on model). Locate the small NTC probe wires running from the cooking cavity to the main control PCB. Ensure the plug is fully seated and not corroded or burnt.
  • Check wiring continuity: With a multimeter set to ohms and the unit unplugged, measure resistance across the NTC sensor leads. A typical NTC will show several kilo-ohms at room temperature. Infinite resistance indicates an open sensor or broken wire.
  • Look for heat damage: Inspect the harness where it passes near the heater and fan. If the insulation is brittle, melted, or cut, the harness should be replaced or repaired with high‑temperature wire.
  • When to stop: If the sensor and wiring appear intact but E1 persists, the sensor input on the main control PCB may be faulty. At this point replacement of the control board is recommended and is best done by a qualified technician.
