Air fryer shows E8 and shuts down or refuses to start; may occur after a power surge or lightning event.

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the air fryer. High voltage is present on the input side even when the unit is off.

External checks:

Test another outlet: Plug the air fryer into a different, known-good outlet without extension cords or power strips.
Avoid overloaded circuits: Do not share the outlet with high-power appliances (microwave, kettle, etc.).
Check for recent power events: If there was a recent outage or surge, internal protection components may have been stressed.

Internal inspection (for experienced users):

Remove the rear or bottom cover to access the power entry area and main control board.
Inspect the input fuse, MOV (surge suppressor), and rectifier components for burn marks or cracking.
Check that the AC input connector is firmly seated and that there are no loose wires.

Corrective actions:

If the input fuse is blown, investigate for shorts before replacing it with the same rating.
Replace visibly damaged surge components or the entire main control/power board if multiple components are affected.
If E8 persists despite normal line voltage and no visible damage, the voltage sensing circuit on the main board may be defective and the board should be replaced.
