E01
Boiler does not ignite, the display shows E01, and heating and hot water are unavailable.
Ignition Failure / Flame Not Detected
E02
Boiler locks out with E02; the burner stops shortly after ignition or does not start, accompanied by an overheating sensation or a very hot casing.
Overheat Thermostat Tripped / Safety Thermostat Intervention
E03
Boiler attempts to start but shuts down with E03; the fan may run briefly, but no flame is established.
Flue Gas Safety / Flue Thermostat or Fume Sensor Intervention
E04
Boiler displays E04 and will not start; this may occur intermittently when hot water or heating is demanded.
Water Pressure Fault / Low System Pressure
E05
Boiler shows E05, heating and/or hot water stop, and temperature readings appear abnormal.
Flow Temperature Sensor (NTC) Fault
E06
Boiler displays E06; hot water temperature fluctuates, or the boiler shuts down during DHW draw-off.
Domestic Hot Water (DHW) Temperature Sensor Fault
E07
Boiler shows E07 and will not fire, often occurring after a power cut or wiring disturbance.
Fan or Air Pressure Switch Fault
E08
Boiler locks out with E08, sometimes accompanied by gurgling noises, especially in cold weather.
Condensate Drain Blocked / Condensate System Fault
E09
Boiler displays E09, with no heating or hot water. This may occur after component replacement or wiring work.
Control Board Communication / Internal Fault
E10
Boiler displays E10. The system pressure may be high or low, and the safety valve may discharge water.
Water Pressure Too High / Expansion Vessel or Safety Valve Issue
E11
Boiler displays E11. Heating may work but hot water does not, or vice versa.
Diverter Valve Positioning Fault
E12
Boiler intermittently shuts down with E12, especially during hot water use at low flow rates.
Flow Rate / Flow Sensor Fault (DHW)
E13
Boiler displays E13. The fan runs, but ignition does not proceed, often after flue or fan work.
Fan Speed / Combustion Control Fault
E14
Boiler displays E14, often associated with rapid temperature rise and short cycling.
Circulation Pump Fault / No Flow in Primary Circuit
E15
Boiler displays E15, which may be accompanied by visible water inside the casing or at the base of the boiler.
Internal Leak Detected / Water Leak Safety
E16
Boiler intermittently displays E16. Temperature readings appear inconsistent, and the boiler may cycle rapidly.
Return Temperature Sensor (NTC) Fault
E17
Boiler displays E17, often related to external control or thermostat issues. The boiler may not respond to the room thermostat.
External Control / Communication Fault
E18
Boiler displays E18, often after a power surge or lightning strike. The boiler may be completely unresponsive or partially functional.
Power Supply / Low Voltage Fault
E19
Boiler shows E19, hot water temperature is unstable or excessively hot at taps.
DHW Overtemperature / Modulation Fault
E20
Boiler displays E20, burner shuts down unexpectedly during operation without obvious cause.
Flame Loss During Operation
Symptom
Boiler cycles on and off rapidly (short cycling) without reaching set temperature, no error code.
Short Cycling / Control or Sizing Issue
Symptom
Boiler does not start at all, display is blank or unlit, no response from controls.
No Power / Dead Boiler
Symptom
Boiler frequently loses pressure and needs to be topped up every few days, no visible leaks and no error code.
Chronic Pressure Loss
Symptom
Boiler leaking water from underneath the casing or from pipe connections, no specific error code displayed.
General Hydraulic Leak
Symptom
Boiler makes loud banging or knocking noises (kettling) during operation, especially when heating starts or stops.
Kettling / Localised Boiling in Heat Exchanger
Symptom
Boiler provides heating but no domestic hot water, or hot water is only lukewarm, no error code.
No DHW / Priority Fault
Symptom
Boiler provides hot water but no central heating, even though the room thermostat is calling for heat.
No Central Heating Output
Symptom
Boiler runs but radiators do not get hot or only partially heat up, no error code displayed.
Poor Heating Performance / Circulation Issue
Symptom
Hot water temperature fluctuates between hot and cold during shower use, without any error code.
Intermittent DHW Temperature Control
Symptom
Radiators are hot at the top but cold at the bottom, while the boiler appears to operate normally.
Sludge Build-Up in Radiators
Symptom
The boiler display works but buttons or selector knobs do not respond or respond intermittently.
User Interface / Control Panel Fault
Symptom
The boiler emits a burning or electrical smell, possibly with visible smoke or discoloration on the casing.
Overheating Electrical Component
Symptom
The boiler emits a strong smell of gas near the appliance, regardless of its operating state.
Gas Leak at Boiler
Symptom
The boiler flue terminal shows signs of staining, dripping, or the plume appears abnormal, but the boiler continues to run.
Flue Gas / Condensate Discharge Issue
Symptom
The boiler frequently locks out and requires a manual reset, but no specific error code is stored or displayed.
Intermittent Lockout / Unstable Operation
Symptom
The boiler is excessively noisy during operation (whining, grinding, or rattling sounds).
Mechanical Noise / Wear
Symptom
The boiler starts then shuts down after a few seconds, repeatedly, without showing an error code.
Failed Ignition Stabilisation / Early Flame Loss
