E01
Boiler will not start; lockout light on; E01 displayed on Dimplex control panel.
Ignition Failure / Flame Not Detected.
E02
Boiler shuts down shortly after starting; E02 displayed; overheat or high temperature lockout.
Primary Heat Exchanger Overheat / High Limit Trip.
E03
Boiler attempts to start but shuts down with E03; fan runs briefly or not at all; possible flue or air pressure fault.
Flue Fan / Air Pressure Switch Fault.
E04
Boiler displays E04 and will not fire; low system pressure warning or water shortage.
Low Water Pressure / Water Shortage Protection.
E05
Boiler shows E05; no heating or hot water; temperature reading on display is unrealistic or fixed.
Flow Temperature Sensor (NTC) Fault.
E06
Boiler displays E06; domestic hot water temperature unstable or not recognized.
DHW Temperature Sensor (NTC) Fault.
E07
Boiler shows E07; fan runs but burner does not light; sometimes accompanied by a flue-related warning icon.
Flue Gas Temperature Sensor / Overheat Fault.
E08
Boiler displays E08; pump symbol may flash; no circulation to radiators or cylinder.
Circulation Pump Fault.
E09
Boiler shows E09; no response to thermostat demand; control panel may be blank or partially lit.
Main Control PCB Fault.
E10
Boiler displays E10; domestic hot water runs cold; burner does not fire on hot water demand.
Flow Switch / Flow Sensor Fault (DHW Demand Not Detected).
E11
Boiler shows E11; intermittent hot water; burner cycles rapidly on and off.
Plate Heat Exchanger Flow Restriction / Overheat
E12
Boiler displays E12; no heating; room thermostat appears to call for heat, but the boiler does not respond.
Communication Fault Between Boiler PCB and Room Controller
E13
Boiler shows E13; frequent lockouts during cold weather; the condensate pipe may gurgle.
Condensate Drain Blocked / Frozen
E14
Boiler displays E14; the burner shuts down unexpectedly; the gas valve symbol may flash.
Gas Valve Modulation / Control Fault
E15
Boiler shows E15; a fan symbol may be present; the burner does not ignite.
Fan Speed / Tachometer Feedback Fault
E16
Boiler displays E16; safety lockout; may be accompanied by a high temperature reading.
Safety Thermostat / Overheat Cut-out Tripped
E17
Boiler shows E17; the display may indicate a sensor mismatch; the boiler may run at reduced output.
Flow/Return Temperature Differential Fault
E18
Boiler displays E18; no heating; external controls appear normal.
External Safety Interlock Open (e.g., Overheat, Low Water Cut-off)
E19
Boiler shows E19; the display may flicker; intermittent operation.
Supply Voltage / Power Quality Fault
E20
Boiler displays E20; no heating; the cylinder icon may flash on system/heat-only models.
Cylinder Sensor / Cylinder Thermostat Fault
Symptom
Boiler casing or flue area shows signs of soot or black staining.
Incomplete Combustion / Flue Gas Spillage
Symptom
Boiler cycles on and off rapidly, causing fluctuating radiator and hot water temperatures.
Short Cycling / Oversized Boiler or Control Issue
Symptom
Boiler display is blank, but the fused spur is on.
No Power to Control Electronics
Symptom
Boiler does not fire for hot water unless heating is also on (on system/heat-only setups).
Motorised Valve / Hot Water Control Fault
Symptom
Boiler does not fire in very cold weather; the external condensate pipe is exposed.
Frozen Condensate (Weather-Related Lockout)
Symptom
Boiler does not respond to the room thermostat; heating stays off even though hot water works.
External Control / Thermostat Circuit Fault
Symptom
Boiler emits a burning or plastic smell during operation.
Overheating Electrical Component or Insulation
Symptom
Boiler frequently locks out and requires manual reset, with no consistent error code.
Intermittent Control or Sensor Fault
Symptom
Boiler frequently loses pressure and needs topping up every few days.
Chronic Pressure Loss
Symptom
Boiler is leaking water from underneath the casing.
Internal Water Leak
Symptom
Boiler is very noisy, with whirring or grinding sounds from inside the casing.
Mechanical Wear of Fan or Pump
Symptom
Boiler makes loud banging or knocking noises (kettling) during operation.
Heat Exchanger Kettling / Localised Boiling
Symptom
Boiler runs, but hot water temperature at taps is inconsistent or too hot/cold.
Domestic Hot Water Temperature Control Issue
Symptom
Boiler runs, but radiators do not get hot or only partially warm.
Poor Heating Circulation
Symptom
Boiler starts, then shuts down after a few seconds without showing a specific error code.
Flame Detection Instability
Symptom
Boiler vibrates excessively or rattles when running.
Mechanical Vibration / Mounting Issue
