Possible Causes

Cracked ignition electrode on Fondital burner, Damaged ignition cable or poor earth connection, Moisture or contamination in the combustion chamber, Faulty ignition circuit on the main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off power and gas before any inspection. Do not open the sealed combustion chamber yourself.

User checks:

  • Reset: Perform one reset and observe. If the boiler repeatedly clicks without igniting, stop resetting.
  • Condensate drain: Ensure the condensate pipe is not visibly frozen or kinked, as this can cause moisture buildup.

Technician actions:

  • Inspect and replace the ignition electrode and HT lead if cracked or carbonized.
  • Check the earth connection between the burner, chassis, and mains.
  • Dry and clean the combustion chamber if moisture or condensate ingress is present.
  • Test the main control PCB ignition circuit and replace the PCB if no spark output is present.
