Loose communication cable between the user interface and PCB, Faulty display board, Faulty main control PCB, Electrical interference or power supply issues.

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Isolate the boiler from the mains before accessing the control panel.

  • Power cycle: Turn off the boiler at the fused spur for 30 seconds, then turn it back on. If E12 persists, proceed with further checks.
  • Check display connections: Remove the front panel and carefully inspect the ribbon cable or plug connecting the display and main PCB for loose or damaged connectors.
  • Check mains supply: Ensure the boiler has a stable 230V supply and that there are no obvious signs of water ingress in the control area.
  • Engineer tasks: Test the continuity of the communication cable, replace the display PCB or main PCB as required, and verify correct earthing and polarity.
