Possible Causes

Vibration pump failure, Air lock in pump, Faulty pressure sensor on hydraulic block, Loose pump electrical connector

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the machine before moving or tilting it.

  • Prime the pump: Fill the water tank completely. Plug in the machine, then start a hot water cycle (if available) without coffee. If the pump is noisy but no water flows, stop, unplug, and gently tap the side of the machine to help release air bubbles. Try again.
  • Check tank valve: Some Ariete tanks have a spring-loaded valve at the bottom. Ensure it moves freely when pressed and is not stuck closed by scale.
  • Descale: Run a descaling cycle to clear any blockages that may cause abnormal pressure readings.
  • Inspect for leaks: Look around the base for water leaks that might indicate a loose hose or cracked fitting affecting pressure.
  • If E09 persists: The vibration pump or pressure sensor may be defective and must be tested and replaced by a technician.
