Possible Causes
Faulty temperature sensor (NTC), Thermostat stuck open, Incorrect brew temperature calibration, Heater not reaching full power
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug and cool the machine before accessing internal components.
- Preheat properly: Allow the machine to fully warm up for several minutes before brewing. Run a blank shot to preheat the group and cup.
- Descale: Scale can insulate the heater and reduce effective temperature. Run a full descaling cycle.
- Check brew temperature (advanced): Use a thermometer at the spout to measure brew temperature. If significantly below specification, suspect sensor or thermostat issues.
- Inspect NTC sensor (advanced): Locate the NTC on the boiler/thermoblock and ensure it is firmly attached with good thermal contact. Replace if out of spec.
Persistent low temperature usually requires replacement of the thermostat, NTC sensor, or control board calibration.
