Possible Causes

Brew group mechanism jammed by coffee residues, Stripped gears in drive motor assembly, Faulty brew group position sensor, Misaligned or incorrectly inserted brew group

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the machine before removing the brew group or accessing internal mechanisms.

  • Remove and clean the brew group: Open the service door, remove the brew group, and rinse it thoroughly under warm water. Use a soft brush to remove compacted coffee. Let it dry completely before reinserting.
  • Lubricate moving parts: Apply a food-safe silicone grease to the brew group rails and moving joints according to Bialetti's maintenance instructions.
  • Reinsert correctly: Ensure the brew group is in its neutral position (piston down, levers aligned) and slide it back in until it clicks. An improperly seated group can trigger E07.
  • Check for obstructions: Inspect the interior where the brew group sits for loose parts, broken plastic, or coffee chunks that could block movement.
  • Reset the machine: After reassembly, plug in and power on. Some models require a door-open/door-close sequence to re-home the brew group.

If E07 remains, the drive motor, gears, or position sensor may be damaged and will likely need professional replacement.
