The display shows E18; the machine may not complete descaling or cleaning cycles.

Safety first: Unplug the machine if it becomes unresponsive. Do not open covers during active descaling.

• Restart descaling: Plug the machine back in and attempt to restart the descaling or cleaning program from the beginning, following the manual exactly.
• Use correct agent and quantity: Ensure you are using Bosch-approved descaler and the correct amount of water. Incorrect mixtures can affect sensor readings.
• Check water tank and waste containers: Make sure the tank is full and the drip tray and grounds container are empty and correctly inserted.
• If E18 persists after a full, uninterrupted cycle: The control board or sensors monitoring the program may be faulty. Contact Bosch service.
