Possible Causes
Clogged milk frother nozzle, Dirty milk suction tube, Using wrong type of milk, Scale in steam circuit reducing steam pressure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF, unplug, and allow the steam circuit to cool before disassembling the frother.
- Disassemble frother: Remove the milk carafe or manual frother. Take apart the nozzle, air intake, and suction tube as per the manual.
- Soak and clean: Soak parts in warm water with mild detergent, then rinse thoroughly. Ensure all small holes are clear.
- Use proper milk: Use cold, fresh semi-skimmed or whole milk. Avoid UHT or lactose-free milk for best foam.
- Descale: Run a descaling cycle to restore steam pressure.
- If still poor: The steam thermoblock or frother assembly may be worn and require replacement.
