Coffee maker emits a strong plastic or chemical smell during first uses.

• 1. Initial cleaning cycles:
  • Run 2–3 full reservoirs of clean water through the machine without coffee.
  • Optionally, run one cycle with a mild vinegar solution, then rinse thoroughly.
• 2. Clean removable parts:
  • Wash the reservoir, brew basket, and carafe with warm, soapy water and rinse well.
• 3. Ventilate:
  • Operate the coffee maker in a well-ventilated area for the first few uses.
• 4. Inspect for overheating:
  • If the smell is burning plastic rather than a mild chemical, unplug immediately and inspect for melted wiring or components; replace any damaged parts.
