Possible Causes
OPV discharge routed to drip tray and set too low, Three-way valve venting excessively, Leaking autofill or safety valve routed to tray, Frequent backflushing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug before internal inspection.
- Observe sources: Remove the drip tray and watch which hoses discharge into it during a brew and idle. Identify whether it is OPV, three-way valve, or safety valve.
- Adjust OPV: If OPV is dumping a lot of water at normal brew pressure, adjust it to the correct setting (around 9–10 bar) as per Lelit instructions.
- Check three-way valve: If water flows from the three-way valve even when not ending a shot, clean or replace the three-way solenoid valve.
- Inspect safety valve: Occasional drips are normal, but constant flow indicates overpressure; see steam pressure control section.
