Possible Causes

Empty or incorrectly seated water tank, Faulty magnetic float in Lelit water tank, Failed tank level reed switch or sensor, Damaged wiring from level sensor to control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF and unplug before removing covers. This fault is usually low risk but still involves mains wiring.

  • Check tank position: Remove and reseat the water tank firmly. Ensure it is pushed fully into place and that any hoses are not preventing proper seating.
  • Verify water level: Fill the tank to the indicated maximum. On models with a magnetic float, confirm that the float moves freely up and down and is not stuck by scale or debris.
  • Clean the tank: Rinse the tank thoroughly and remove any scale or coffee oils. If the float is stuck, soak in warm water with mild detergent and move it gently until it slides freely.
  • Inspect level sensor: On the machine body, locate the reed switch or optical sensor that detects the tank level. Check for damage, misalignment, or broken wires.
  • Test with another tank (if available): If you have access to another compatible Lelit tank, try it. If AL6 disappears, replace the water tank with float. If the error persists, the tank level sensor or control board may need replacement.
