Possible Causes
Worn steam valve PTFE seat, Scale buildup on steam valve spindle, Damaged O-rings in steam valve, Bent or overtightened steam knob shaft
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF, unplug, and allow the boiler to cool and depressurize. Open the steam wand to release pressure before disassembly.
- Operate the valve: Open and close the steam knob several times to see if debris clears and the drip stops.
- Descale externally: If minor, run a descaling solution through the steam circuit (following Lelit’s instructions) to dissolve scale on the valve seat.
- Disassemble valve (if comfortable): Remove the steam knob and unscrew the valve spindle from the body. Inspect the PTFE seat and O-rings. Clean scale and replace worn seals.
- Replace valve: If the seat is deeply grooved or cracked, replace the entire steam valve assembly.
