Possible Causes
Stagnant water left in reservoir, Dirty carafe and brew basket, Mold growth in internal tubing, Lack of regular cleaning cycles
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Deep cleaning:
- Discard any standing water from the reservoir.
- Wash the reservoir, carafe, and brew basket with hot, soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
- Run a descaling cycle with a 1:1 vinegar-water solution, then run 2–3 rinse cycles with fresh water.
Drying:
- When not in use, leave the reservoir lid and brew basket open to allow air circulation and drying.
If odor persists after multiple cleanings, microbial growth may be present in internal tubing; consider replacing the silicone hose kit or the entire coffee maker.
