Possible Causes

Cracked silicone hose, Loose hose clamp on heating tube, Cracked aluminum heating tube, Leaking reservoir grommet or O-ring

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker immediately and do not use it until the leak is resolved. Water near electrical parts is a shock and fire hazard.

External inspection:

  • Remove the carafe and reservoir and dry the exterior of the unit.
  • Fill the reservoir with water and watch for drips from the base without powering the unit. This can help identify a passive leak from the reservoir or grommet.

Internal inspection (advanced):

  • Remove the bottom cover to expose the silicone hoses, heating tube, and reservoir grommet.
  • Look for water trails, mineral deposits, or corrosion that indicate the leak source.
  • Tighten or replace hose clamps as needed.
  • Replace any cracked hoses or a damaged reservoir grommet/O-ring.

If the aluminum heating tube itself is cracked or corroded through, replace the entire heating tube assembly or consider replacing the coffee maker if parts are not economical.
