Possible Causes

Brush bar set too low, Very thick carpet causing overload, Blocked floorhead air channels, Weak motor unable to handle load

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Remove the battery before inspecting the floorhead.

  • Check floorhead settings: If your Bush floorhead has a carpet/hard floor slider, set it to the appropriate position for thick carpet.
  • Clean brush bar and channels: Remove the brush bar and clear all debris. Clean the internal air channels of the floorhead.
  • Test on different surfaces: Try the vacuum on hard floors and low-pile carpet. If it only cuts out on very thick carpet, use a lower power setting or a non-motorised tool for that surface.
  • Assess motor strength: If the vacuum cuts out easily on normal carpets, the motor may be weak or the overload threshold too low due to PCB issues. Inspect and replace the motor or PCB if necessary.
