Possible Causes

Stuck trigger lock slider, Faulty trigger microswitch, Broken handle PCB, Damaged ribbon cable between handle and main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Remove the battery before working on the handle or trigger.

  • Check trigger lock: Many Bush cordless vacuums have a mechanical lock or slider near the trigger. Move it fully back and forth several times to ensure it is not stuck in the locked position. Clean around it with a dry brush.
  • Inspect trigger movement: Squeeze the trigger and feel for a distinct click. If it feels mushy or does not move fully, debris may be lodged behind it. Use compressed air to blow out dust around the trigger.
  • Open handle (advanced): Remove screws from the handle housing and carefully separate the halves. Inspect the trigger microswitch and small handle PCB. Ensure the switch actuator is aligned and the switch clicks when pressed.
  • Check ribbon cable: Follow the thin ribbon or wire harness from the handle PCB to the main body. Ensure it is not pinched or broken. Reseat any connectors.
  • Replace faulty parts: If the microswitch is physically broken or the handle PCB is cracked, replace the handle PCB/trigger assembly with a Bush-compatible spare.
