Possible Causes
Pre-motor filter missing or not seated correctly, HEPA filter not locked in place, Filter sensor switch not engaged, Filter extremely clogged causing sensor to trip
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery before opening the dust bin or filter compartments.
- Step 1 – Verify filter installation: Remove and reinstall the pre-motor and HEPA filters, ensuring they are oriented correctly and fully seated. Listen for any locking clicks.
- Step 2 – Clean filters: Tap filters gently to remove dust. If washable per Cecotec manual, rinse with water and allow to dry completely (24 hours) before reinstalling.
- Step 3 – Check filter doors: Ensure all filter covers and doors are fully closed. Some models have micro-switches that detect open covers.
If E12 persists with clean, correctly installed filters, the filter detection switch or sensor may be faulty, requiring service.
