Possible Causes
Dust container not fully seated, Broken bin detection microswitch, Damaged bin latch tab, Misaligned bin sensor lever
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the vacuum off and remove the battery before manipulating the bin latch.
- Step 1 – Reseat dust container: Remove the dust bin completely and reinstall it firmly until it clicks. Ensure the latch is fully engaged.
- Step 2 – Inspect latch and tabs: Check the plastic tabs on the bin and the latch mechanism on the body for cracks or wear. Replace the dust container if the locking tab is broken.
- Step 3 – Check microswitch: Locate the small bin detection switch inside the bin cavity. Press it manually with a non‑metallic tool and see if the vacuum will start (with bin removed). If it starts, the bin is not actuating the switch properly.
- Step 4 – Adjust or replace switch: Slightly bend the switch lever (if metal) to improve contact, or replace the microswitch if it is physically damaged.
