The vacuum leaves lines of debris and does not pick up well from carpets despite normal suction at the wand.

Safety: Remove the battery and detach the floorhead.

• Inspect bristles: Compare the brush bar bristle length to the original (or to the centre versus ends). If bristles are very short or uneven, they cannot agitate carpet effectively.
• Clean intake lip: Remove fluff and hair from the front edge of the floorhead where debris enters.
• Check brush rotation: Ensure the brush spins freely and is powered when the vacuum is on.
• Replace brush bar: If bristles are worn or the bar is damaged, fit a new Hoover H-Free brush bar designed for your floor type.
