Neato
Battery Self-Discharge or Parasitic Draw
Vacuum will not hold a charge when stored; battery drains quickly even when not in use.

Possible Causes
Aged lithium-ion cells, Internal short in the battery pack, Control board not entering sleep mode, Storing in a high-temperature environment
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Do not store the vacuum in hot locations (e.g., car, near heaters). Disconnect it from the charger when not needed.
- Step 1 – Measure Runtime: Fully charge the vacuum, then run it continuously to measure the actual runtime. Compare this to the rated runtime in the manual.
- Step 2 – Check Storage Drain: Fully charge the vacuum, then store it unplugged for 24–48 hours. If the battery is significantly depleted without use, the pack or control board may be drawing power.
- Step 3 – Replace Battery: If the vacuum is older or the runtime is much lower than specified, replace the battery pack with a genuine Neato pack.
- Step 4 – Firmware and Sleep Mode: Ensure the vacuum is fully powered off between uses. If it still drains rapidly with a new battery, the main PCB may not be entering low-power mode and may require replacement.
