Possible Causes

Dry environment and synthetic carpets, Plastic wand and nozzle generating static, Lack of a grounding path in the design

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: These are usually low-energy static shocks, but if you feel strong shocks or see sparks inside the unit, stop using it and seek service.

  • Step 1 – Humidity control: Increase room humidity slightly with a humidifier to reduce static build-up.
  • Step 2 – Change cleaning pattern: Avoid rapid back-and-forth strokes on synthetic carpets that generate more static.
  • Step 3 – Discharge before handling: Touch a grounded metal object before picking up the vacuum.
  • Step 4 – Inspect for internal arcing (advanced): If you suspect internal electrical arcing (burning smell, visible sparks), have the motor and PCB inspected and replaced if necessary.
