Possible Causes
Faulty mode selector button, Stuck button due to dust ingress, Firmware glitch, Defective main control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the vacuum and remove the battery before cleaning around buttons.
- Clean buttons: Use a soft brush or compressed air to remove dust around the mode button. Wipe with a dry cloth.
- Reset the unit: Reinsert the battery and perform a soft reset if supported (e.g., hold power and mode buttons together for several seconds—check your model's manual).
- Check button feel: Press the mode button repeatedly. It should click distinctly. If it feels mushy or stuck, the switch may be damaged.
- Open housing: If comfortable, open the handle housing to access the mode switch PCB. Inspect for corrosion or broken solder joints.
- Replace switch/PCB: Replace the Mode Button PCB or entire Main Control PCB if the switch is integrated.
