Possible Causes
Dry indoor air, Synthetic carpets, Lack of grounding in design, Dust buildup on plastic surfaces
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Static shocks are usually not dangerous but can be uncomfortable.
- 1. Increase humidity: Use a humidifier or place bowls of water in the room to raise humidity.
- 2. Wear shoes: Avoid vacuuming barefoot on synthetic carpets.
- 3. Wipe surfaces: Clean the exterior plastic surfaces of the SilverCrest vacuum with a slightly damp cloth (battery removed) and dry thoroughly.
If shocks are severe or accompanied by burning smells or visible sparks, stop using the vacuum and have it inspected.
