Dishwasher will not fill with water; cycle starts then quickly stops and displays E1.

Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker and turn off the water supply before working on the dishwasher.

• 1. Verify water supply: Ensure the household shutoff valve (usually under the sink) feeding the Bertazzoni dishwasher is fully open. Check that other faucets in the home have normal pressure.
• 2. Inspect inlet hose and filter: Pull the dishwasher out slightly if needed. Locate the water inlet hose at the bottom-left or bottom-right rear. Turn off water, disconnect the hose, and inspect the small mesh filter at the water inlet valve. Clean any debris with a soft brush and water.
• 3. Check for hose kinks: Make sure the inlet hose is not sharply bent or pinched behind the cabinet.
• 4. Test the water inlet valve: With power still off, access the bottom front of the dishwasher (remove toe-kick panel). Locate the water inlet valve assembly. Inspect for signs of burning or cracking. If you have a multimeter and are qualified, test the coil for continuity. Replace the valve if open or shorted.
• 5. Flow meter / pressure sensor: Some Bertazzoni models use a flow meter integrated in the hydraulic system. If the valve and supply are good but E1 persists, the flow meter or pressure sensor may be faulty and should be tested or replaced by a technician.
