Possible Causes
Failed thermistor, Loose thermistor wiring, Shorted sensor, Control misreading temperature
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker.
- Locate thermistor: The temperature sensor is typically mounted in the sump area. Access it from inside the tub or from underneath, depending on the model.
- Inspect wiring: Ensure the connector is fully seated and wires are not damaged or corroded.
- Test sensor: Use a multimeter to measure resistance at room temperature and compare it to Café/GE specifications. A reading far outside specifications indicates a bad sensor.
- Replace if faulty: Install a new Café-compatible thermistor if the original is defective.
- If tE persists: The control board input circuit may be faulty and require replacement.
