Possible Causes
Kinked or blocked drain hose, Blocked sink siphon connection, Incorrect drain hose installation height, Partial blockage in pump outlet
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher before disconnecting any hoses.
- 1. Check sink drain: Run water in the sink. If it drains slowly, clean the sink trap; a blocked sink can cause E24.
- 2. Inspect drain hose routing: Ensure the hose is not kinked or crushed behind the dishwasher. The hose should form a high loop before connecting to the sink siphon.
- 3. Clean siphon connection: Remove the hose from the sink trap spigot. Clear any grease or debris from the spigot and the hose end.
- 4. Test drain: Place the hose into a bucket and run a drain program. If water pumps out strongly, the issue lies with the sink connection; if not, the pump or internal hose may be blocked.
When to call a technician: If E24 persists after hose and siphon cleaning, internal hoses or the pump outlet may require professional cleaning or replacement.
