Possible Causes

Drain hose kinked or blocked, Sump area or filter clogged with food debris, Drain pump impeller jammed, Drain pump motor failure on Fagor base assembly

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher and turn off the water supply before working underneath the unit.

  • Clean filters: Open the door, remove the lower rack, and take out the coarse and fine filters in the sump. Rinse thoroughly and remove any glass, bones, or labels.
  • Check sump area: Use a flashlight to inspect the sump where the water collects. Remove any foreign objects that could block the drain pump inlet.
  • Inspect drain hose: Access the rear or side of the dishwasher and verify the Fagor drain hose is not kinked, crushed, or blocked at the sink trap or garbage disposal. Clean the connection point.
  • Test pump: Restore power and run a drain or cancel program. If you hear a humming noise but no water movement, the pump impeller may be jammed. If there is no sound at all, the pump motor may be burned out.
  • Advanced step: Remove the lower front kick plate, locate the drain pump on the base, and check for obstructions in the pump housing. If the impeller is damaged or loose, replace the Fagor drain pump assembly.
